Ted LeClair is Senior Vice President and director of the Natixis Advisor Academy. In this role, he delivers keynote presentations at major industry events, trains managers in the qualities of successful leadership and mentors advisory teams to help them achieve greater success in their practices.
LeClair brings to the financial services industry a unique perspective and a strong set of leadership skills. As a commander with more than 21 years in the U.S. Navy and an active navy reservist, he has completed three tours of duty to the Middle East and recently completed over six consecutive years in command of three separate units including two gunboat commands. He has also spent significant time in Japan and Korea and currently serves on the Navy Reserve Staff for Commander U.S. Seventh Fleet – the only permanently forward deployed fleet of the U.S. Navy. He has received numerous personal and unit commendations. His career history also includes building and running a multimillion-dollar cranberry business.
LeClair holds a BA from Villanova University, an MPA from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and an MA in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He is currently enrolled in Advance Joint Professional Military Education (AJPME) through the Joint Forces Staff College with an anticipated completion date of October 2013.
Additionally, LeClair served for three years (2009-2012) as a member on the Secretary of the Navy, National Navy Reserve Policy Board and had the privilege of being designated as an honorary Chief Petty Officer in 1995. He has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (two awards) and various unit and campaign awards. He resides between Austin, Texas and the South Shore of Massachusetts.
