David Kolbe

Short bio: David Kolbe is Chief Executive Officer of Kolbe Corp.  His current role includes management of the company’s operational, financial, technical and legal efforts.  As the son of pioneering theorist, educator and author Kathy Kolbe, David has literally grown up with the design and development of the Kolbe A™ Index and the Kolbe System™.  His extensive consulting work with a broad range of corporate clients gives him great insight into many aspects of employee selection, team building, performance improvement and organizational development.  As a highly sought after speaker and presenter, David has helped countless people understand the power of trusting their instincts.   Prior to coming to Kolbe Corp, David worked as an Associate with a major Arizona law firm, and as a congressional legislative director for a Texas congressman on Capitol Hill.  He holds a law degree from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.  

Long bio: David Kolbe, CEO of Kolbe Corp, has lived and breathed the Kolbe System from its inception. The son of pioneering theorist and author Kathy Kolbe, David joined the company in 1997 as General Counsel and became President in 2001.  After leading the company to double-digit annual growth, he was named Chief Executive in 2004.  He has primary responsibility for strategic planning, corporate development and finance, as well as direct oversight of the company’s operational, technical and legal efforts.

As one of the architects of the Kolbe System, David Kolbe played a key role in the development of the company’s online assessment tools and job performance forecasting software.  A frequent speaker and panelist at industry conferences, Kolbe is an expert on hiring, retention and organizational development issues.  He regularly conducts training seminars on the Kolbe System for businesses and individuals across the country.

Before coming to Kolbe Corp, David worked as an attorney for the Phoenix law firm of Gammage and Burnham, where he specialized in land use and commercial litigation.  Prior to that, he served as a Legislative Director in Washington, D.C. for a Texas Congressman. Kolbe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the

University of Pennsylvania, where he studied multinational management and political science.  He received his law degree from Arizona State University, where he was admitted as aRegent’s Scholar.

David Kolbe lives in Phoenix, AZ with his wife and four children.
